My office will once again host our Annual Canned Food Drive & Community Reception on Wednesday, December 19th.  Please join us for light snacks, beverages and friendly discussion on the issues affecting our state and communities.

We have again teamed up with Westside Food Bank for our annual food drive.  As the food bank warehouse for the Westside since 1981, they annually distribute 4.5 million pounds of food to over 70 local social service agencies serving much of the 50th Assembly District.

We hope you will consider bringing a donation of any non-perishable foods with you to the event for our canned food drive, but donations are not required. You can also drop canned and packaged items off at our office anytime before the event.

Please RSVP for the event below.  We look forward to seeing you!

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Deaths and injuries can often be prevented by the proper use of correctly installed car seats, boosters, and seat belts.

Is your child’s car seat installed properly?  Is your car seat the appropriate seat for your child’s age, weight and height?

I have partnered with the California Highway Patrol to host a FREE Car Seat Safety Inspection Event at the City of Malibu’s Preparedness Expo.

Stop by the event to have your child safety seat inspected by certified technicians representing the California Highway Patrol. This free event is open to all ages and will include fire safety classes, earthquake preparedness classes, and activity booths all focused on keeping our communities safe.

Saturday, September 29, 2018
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Malibu City Hall
23825 Stuart Ranch Rd
Malibu, CA 90265

Advance reservations for car seat inspections are highly recommended
1 RSVP = 1 car seat installation – please RSVP accordingly if more than one car seat requires installation

Anyone can become a victim of a scam, but if you are 65 years or older, you are a scammer’s prime target! According to the FBI, senior citizens are most likely to have a “nest egg,” own their home, and/or to have excellent credit - all of which make them attractive to con artists.

Please join my office, in partnership with Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove, for a FREE Senior Scam Stoppers Seminar to learn what you can do to prevent you, or someone you know, from becoming a victim of a scam.

Due to the recent passing of his mother, Assemblymember Bloom’s Annual Community Open House & School Supplies Drive has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 1, 2018. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

We hope you will join us Wednesday, August 1st, along with fellow Assembly District 50 residents and business owners for an opportunity to learn about the services the District Office can provide you and to hear about the work the Assemblymember is doing on your behalf in Sacramento.

Donations of new backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year are greatly appreciated, but not required. Your donation of a new backpack or new school supplies reduces the financial burden to families and increases student readiness, leading to better educational outcomes. The items collected will be distributed to students at the Annual Hollywood Family Resource Fair in late August.
