San Bernardino The following is a statement made by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes in connection with the statements made by Michael Selyem, Deputy District Attorney, San Bernardino County. 

“Last week I became aware of the statements made by Deputy District Attorney Michael Selyem against U.S Representative Maxine Waters, former First Lady Michelle Obama, Mexican immigrants and the victim of a police shooting.

Joint Committee on Rules Approves Landmark Sexual Harassment Policy

Sacramento – Last week, the Joint Committee on Rules approved an overhaul of the Legislature’s policies concerning sexual harassment with the ultimate goal of fostering a meaningful culture change inside the Capitol community. As a member of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino), helped to shape the new policy revisions that were released last week.

Assemblymember Reyes Secures Additional Funding to Protect Seniors

Sacramento- Introduced at the start of Assemblymember Reyes’ first year in office, AB 550 advocated for the wellbeing of our seniors by requesting an increase to the base allocation for local Long Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman programs. The current funding allocation for the LTC Ombudsman organization was established in 1989, and the existing formula has not been updated for inflation in 27 years.
