Assemblymember Reyes Honors Local Veterans With Legislation to Rename Freeway

Sacramento – Today, ACR 230 authored by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino), passed the Assembly Transportation committee on a vote of 14 to 0. The resolution which would rename a portion of State Route 215 between the cities of San Bernardino and Grand Terrace, the “Medal of Honor Memorial Freeway” will honor military service members from the area who have been recognized by the military and the federal government and received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Legislation to Open Occupational Pathways and Prevent Recidivism Clears Assembly Floor

Sacramento – AB 2293 by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino) passed out of the Assembly and now moves on to the State Senate. The bill would reduce some of the barriers faced by formerly incarcerated individuals trying to attain Emergency Medical Technician licenses, to work as firefighters or in emergency services. In 2017, over 4,500 inmates served in the California Conservation Camp program and contributed over 10 million work hours to fighting forest fires and conservation efforts around the state.

Disadvantaged Community Land Use Proposal Passes Critical Step

Sacramento – Yesterday, the California State Assembly passed AB 2447 by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino). This legislation requires that notices be provided to residents of disadvantaged communities when an industrial project such as a warehouse is proposed. Specifically this bill ensures that residents already burdened with pollution can be fully engaged in the project review process.

Sacramento – Yesterday, the State Assembly passed AB 2122 by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino) with unanimous bi-partisan support. AB 2122 would ensure that the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) meets its state and federal mandates for blood lead testing in children.

Bill To Increase Higher Education Funding Opportunities Clears Assembly

Sacramento – Yesterday, AB 2015 authored by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino), passed the Assembly floor with wide bi-partisan support. AB 2015 would require school districts to ensure that their students receive information on how to properly complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) at least once before entering the 12th grade.
