Sacramento –Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) released the following statement in regards to the inauguration of Governor Newsom earlier today.
“As the 40th Governor of our great state, Gavin Newsom is uniquely positioned to continue the progress made by his predecessor, Governor Brown. I look forward to the next four years under his watch as he continues to move California forward for all Californians.”
“As Chair of the Assembly Human Services Committee, I appreciate Governor Newsom’s commitment to tackle homelessness, provide quality and affordable childcare and to work for a better future for our foster youth. Our state’s commitment to our young people is vital to our future and I applaud Governor Newsom for his intentions to make significant investments into early childhood education and childcare.”
“At this precarious time, our state is navigating a combative presidential administration as well as an uncertain economic future. Governor Brown did a tremendous job of guiding California out of the recession and budget deficits and I will stand by Governor Newsom in continuing these traditions of keeping the state budget on solid economic foundations.”
