(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Eloise Gomez Reyes (D-San Bernardino), a member of the Assembly Special Committee on the Office of the Attorney General, voted to recommend that the full Assembly confirm Congressman Xavier Becerra as Attorney General of California. “The Attorney General is the legal representative of a number of state agencies that have environmental and public health responsibilities,” Assemblymember Reyes said in her remarks. “We know that low income communities, as well as communities of color, are the ones who suffer more when environmental justice issues arise and I’m very concerned that the environmental gains that we’ve made over the years may be lost.” Here’s more from Assemblymember Reyes in this Assembly Access video.
