(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) introduced Assembly Concurrent Resolution 256 to declare July 27, 2018as Bullying Prevention Day. The resolution would also designate the date as Rosie’s Day in honor of the life of Rosalie Avila, a 13-year-old from the City of Yucaipa who took her own life after being bullied at her middle school. “Members, thousands of students are bullied ever year in California,” Assemblymember Reyes said, “and part of our responsibility it educate, empower, and protect or children when it comes to issues of bullying and to be involved in their lives to address situations before they become dire.” Learn more in this Assembly Access video.
