Bloom Wraps Up Natural Resources and Transportation Budget Committee Work

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Richard Bloom (D-Santa Monica), Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee #3 which oversees natural resources and transportation funding, finalized his subcommittee's work for the 2013-14 State Budget and has presented it to the full Assembly Budget Committee. "The Assembly's larger goal of maintaining fiscal responsibility and strengthening the middle class by reinvesting in education combined with only modest improvements in the economy hindered our ability to address all of our needs," said Bloom. "However, despite these limitations, the subcommittee was able to make some significant investments as well as implement a number of oversight measures that will help maximize scarce financial resources so that we can provide the environmental protection and transportation infrastructure needs that Californians expect and deserve."
