Heavy Workload for 2017 Resources, Transportation Budget Sub Committee # 3

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Richard Bloom (D-Santa Monica) gaveled in the first hearing of the Budget SubCommittee # 3on Resources and Transportation with an overview of the thick agenda the SubCommittee will be tackling this year.  While the first hearing focused mainly Climate and Environmental Research in California, Assemblymember Bloom said the SubCommittee will be dealing with many water related challenges such as the lasting impacts of the drought, new flooding related issues, and access to clean water for rural communities. In addition, Assemblymember Bloom says major transportation issues such as goods movement, congestion and infrastructure are also on the SubCommittee’s agenda.
