Sacramento– On January 18th, the California Public Utilities Commission made a final decision on funding its clean energy research program through 2020. The decision provides for the funding of the Electric Program Investment Charge or EPIC program, $60,000,000 which will be allocated to benefit low-income and disadvantaged communities.
Bipartisan group of Assemblymembers unveils legislative response to growing outcry against all forms of harassment
Sacramento– Earlier today, Assemblymembers Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino), Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) & Marie Waldron (R-Escondido) alongside industry stakeholders and advocates in the “Me Too” movement, held a press conference to announce the introduction of AB 1870, the SHARE Act (Stopping Harassment and Reporting Extension) aimed at addressing the issue of harassment in the workplace.
San Bernardino – Yesterday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) made changes to the Democratic Leadership team for the 2017-18 regular session.
Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) was appointed as Assistant Majority Whip. The Democratic leadership team will help lead the Assembly as members continue tackling sexual harassment, leading on climate change and clean energy and advocating for workers’ rights. The Assistant Majority Whip is one of eight Democratic leadership positions in the Assembly.
San Bernardino – The following is a statement made by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes in connection with recent events surrounding bullying and the recent passing of Rosalie Avila, a victim of bullying in school.
“The recent events that transpired in Yucaipa are deeply troubling and the loss of Rosalie Avila is completely unacceptable and should have been avoidable. Although the State of California has done much in the way of passing legislation addressing bullying in schools, there is clearly more work that needs to be done.
San Bernardino – Yesterday, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) held a State of the 47th District event at San Bernardino Valley College. The event was attended by elected officials, community partners and advocates as well as friends and family. The State of the 47th event was held on the one-year anniversary of Assemblymember Reyes being sworn in to the Legislature. The event highlighted the progress being made on important issues throughout the Inland Empire but especially in the 47th District.
