Assemblymember Reyes Holds State of the 47th District Event

San Bernardino – Yesterday, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) held a State of the 47th District event at San Bernardino Valley College. The event was attended by elected officials, community partners and advocates as well as friends and family. The State of the 47th event was held on the one-year anniversary of Assemblymember Reyes being sworn in to the Legislature. The event highlighted the progress being made on important issues throughout the Inland Empire but especially in the 47th District.

Assemblymember Reyes Launches “There Ought to be a Law” Community Program

Assemblymember Reyes Holds Select Committee on Environmental Quality and the Green Economy in the Inland Empire

San Bernardino – Yesterday, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D- San Bernardino) held a hearing of the Select Committee on Environmental Quality and the Green Economy in the Inland Empire at the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chambers in San Bernardino. A key component of the hearing was centered on how the Inland Empire can embrace the transition towards renewable energy and the green economy while harnessing the tangible benefits of this movement such as well-paying jobs.

City of Colton Mayor Richard A. DeLaRosa Presents Assemblymember Reyes with Keys to the City

San Bernardino – On October 17, 2017 Mayor Richard A. DeLaRosa, alongside the City of Colton’s City Council presented Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes with the keys to the City and proclaimed her a “Key Supporter” of all the citizens within the City of Colton, throughout the Inland Empire Region and the State of California. Assemblymember Reyes was recognized for being a strong and vocal advocate for the people of the Inland Empire and the City of Colton.

Governor Brown Signs Bill Ensuring Equity for Homeless and LGBT Students

Sacramento – On Friday, Governor Brown signed AB 1018, legislation which requires community college districts in California to create Equity Plans for both homeless and LGBT students. “There are communities that continue to remain unrecognized and consequently left out of Student Success Funding. AB 1018 addresses this issue and offers a solution to each district, making it a crucial step towards creating a diverse student population” said Assemblymember Reyes. 

Bill Introduced in Response to San Bernardino Terrorist Attack Signed by Governor Brown

Sacramento – AB 44, a bill authored by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino), that arose from the December 2nd 2015 terrorist attack in San Bernardino was signed by Governor Brown on Friday.  Introduced on the one-year anniversary of the attack, the bill requires that employees injured in an act of terrorism must receive the immediate services of a nurse case manager and that they be told of the medical treatment options that are available.

Governor Brown Signs Legislation to Bring Clean Energy to Disadvantaged Communities

Sacramento – On Saturday, Governor Brown signed AB 523, the Equity in Clean Energy Investments Act. The bill would dedicate at least 25% of available Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) funds for clean energy projects in disadvantaged communities, and an additional 10% in low-income households. The bill has been a priority of its author, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) and by its co-sponsors, the Women’s Policy Institute and the California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA).
