Woman of the Year Nominee Jessie Gómez Honored by State Legislature in Woman of the Year Ceremony

Sacramento – Today, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes honored this years’ district recipient for the Woman of the Year Award, Jessie Gómez of Colton, CA. Presented by the Legislative Women’s caucus, the Woman of the Year award recognizes women from all over the state for accomplishments in their respective fields and for their dedication for improving the lives of others in conjunction with Women’s History Month.

Jessie Gómez, a long-time community activist and mother of Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes was selected to receive this years’ WOY award based on Ms. Gómez’s years of community service, tireless work ethic and people-centered focus. “I am so proud of all the work my mother, Jessie Gómez, has done in the community from feeding and clothing the homeless to providing mentors for our at risk youth. She is the best example of a true leader,” said Assemblymember Reyes.

Nominees came from a variety of different backgrounds ranging from educators and community advocates to county employees, students, business owners and heads of local non-profits.

Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes represents Assembly District 47 which includes the cities of Fontana, Rialto, Colton, Grand Terrace, San Bernardino and the unincorporated areas of Muscoy and Bloomington.
