Black History Month Celebration in the State Assembly

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes. (D-San Bernardino) joined her colleagues in the State Assembly for a special ceremony to celebrate Black History Month. After a video depicting 50 years of CLBC history was shown, the Assembly passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 6, a measure that recognizes the month of February 2017 as Black History Month and encourages the people of California to recognize the many talents, achievements, and contributions that African Americans make to their communities. Speaking on behalf or herself and the Legislative Women’s Caucus, Assemblymember Reyes said, “As we honor and reflect on the accomplishments of African-American leaders in the fields of politics, education, science and entertainment, we cannot forget our collective role in the fight for equality and justice.”  Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
