Sacramento – On June 16, 2017 The California State Parks Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS) awarded the City of Fontana $1,000,000 to construct an artificial turf soccer field, field lighting and water conservation measures at Fontana Central City Soccer Park.
The Youth Soccer and Recreation Development (YS) Program provides one-time financial assistance for recreational projects that target low-income and heavily populated urban areas with high crime and unemployment rates.
I am excited to announce the 2017 30 Under 30 Awardees. These 30 young men and women under the age of 30 exemplify dedication, innovation and service in the 47th Assembly District. They are the entrepreneurs, innovators, public servants and community members that will define the Inland Empire in the years to come. Over the last few months we have received an overwhelming amount of nominations, and the process of choosing the 30 Under 30 was not an easy task.
Sacramento – Yesterday, Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes and other members of the California State Assembly honored veterans at the 10th annual Veterans Luncheon at the Sacramento Convention Center. Honorees spanned service in armed conflicts from World War II to current military personal in armed conflicts in the Middle East and around the globe.
With the finalizing of the budget for 2017-18, I have joined with my Assembly colleagues to standup for California’s values of inclusion, responsibility and justice. This budget upholds our commitment to a better California by investing in our senior citizens, middle class families, and students. With a national political conversation focused on blame and generating fear of the other, California can stand proud today proving it is our differences that bring us to together to generate a responsible and forward thinking state budget.
